I work at the intersection of AI governance, Responsible AI, organizational adoption, research, and higher education. My focus is on how institutions respond to emerging technologies, translate principles into practice, prepare people for meaningful engagement with AI, and maintain accountability as technological capabilities evolve.

Through my work as a practitioner, researcher, and educator, I explore how organizations and individuals can navigate technological change responsibly while building practical, human-centered approaches to AI governance, adoption, and institutional readiness.

AI Adoption & Enablement

Turning AI interest into responsible, everyday practice

My work focuses on helping organizations translate AI ambitions into responsible and sustainable practice. I am particularly interested in how institutions adopt emerging technologies, operationalize governance principles, prepare people to use AI effectively, and build systems of accountability that can adapt as technology evolves.

Drawing on experience as a Responsible AI Specialist within Microsoft's Office of Responsible AI, I have supported engineering teams in translating governance requirements and emerging regulatory expectations into practical processes, documentation, and evidence-based guidance. I am also a Microsoft Certified AI Business Professional and Microsoft Certified AI Transformation Leader.

Through my independent AI enablement program, I developed the AI Innovation Framework and related resources addressing AI strategy, workforce learning, governance, workflow design, and responsible adoption. Within my first year, I secured six organizational clients and applied these approaches across public-sector, nonprofit, healthcare, and other complex organizational settings.

Across this work, my goal is to help organizations move beyond experimentation toward sustainable, responsible, and human-centered AI adoption that creates meaningful value while maintaining appropriate oversight and accountability.

Research

Researching governance, accountability, and institutional change

My research examines many of the same questions that arise in practice: how organizations govern emerging technologies, translate principles into operational systems, and sustain accountability as technological capabilities evolve. Through this work, I explore the institutional, organizational, and human factors that shape AI adoption and governance.

As a doctoral researcher in Artificial Intelligence at Capitol Technology University, I study the governance, accountability, and institutional implications of emerging AI technologies. My research focuses on how organizations develop responsible approaches to AI adoption, operationalize governance frameworks, and maintain meaningful oversight in an increasingly AI-enabled environment.

I maintain an active research agenda, advancing my dissertation while contributing new scholarship on AI-related topics through peer-reviewed publications.

Before moving into AI, my research focused on mediated communication, resulting in three peer-reviewed publications, including two in Q1 journals. That background continues to inform my perspective, bringing insights from communication scholarship to questions of technology adoption, institutional change, and human engagement with AI.

Teaching & Education

Preparing learners for an AI-enabled future

Many of the challenges surrounding AI are ultimately human as well as organizational, which is why education and AI literacy are central to my work. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into professional and institutional contexts, individuals need not only technical skills, but also the judgment required to use these technologies responsibly and effectively.

My educational work explores how higher education can prepare learners to engage thoughtfully with AI and other emerging technologies. I am particularly interested in AI literacy, Responsible AI education, curriculum innovation, and professional learning that bridges technical capabilities with critical thinking, communication, and ethical judgment.

As an Adjunct Professor of Technical Writing at the University of Arkansas Grantham, I teach courses in workplace communication, technical documentation, usability, audience analysis, document design, editing, and professional writing. I also integrate responsible AI and AI-assisted writing into the curriculum, helping students evaluate emerging technologies critically and understand their appropriate use in academic and professional settings.

Across my teaching and educational work, my goal is to help learners develop the communication skills, technological fluency, and professional judgment needed to participate thoughtfully in an AI-enabled future.
